Uhhh yeah so random lowdown on today because I can?
I just got back from an Owl City concert with Kate Havnevik as the opening act, and MY GOD it was the rudest crowd I've ever been in! I should've realized that Adam Young's fanbase is primarily teeny-bopper girls who love to shriek and drag their dads along with them to shows like this. Anyway, Kate was my favourite of the line-up and I've been a fan of hers for maybe 4 years now, but it was obvious that virtually no one in the club knew who she was and were yelling for Owl City and talking through her whole set... but me & Amy caught up with her at the merch table and took pictures, got a few autographs, and assured her that we loved her. :D So that was cool... btw Owl City themselves had the shortest set imaginable and Adam looked ready to collapse from exhaustion and was chugging coffee every 2 seconds. Okay then.
So yeah I also tried to manage a glimpse of Viggo Mortensen at TIFF too - and would have if I'd known the premiere of The Road was on Sunday and not today. Bahhh. Rented Eastern Promises for the weekend, it was pretty bomb.
AND. On the subject of the artists I support & whatnot, Iko's new album Ludo Says Hi has FINALLY been released as a digital download (It's a fan presale before the real iTunes release, and as far as I know won't be around forever). Anyone who watches me is probably aware of how much I plug them, seeing as they are my favourite band. I personally LOVE this album and have had it on repeat since it was put out on Sept 2nd, and the new tracks I hadn't heard are downright amazing. ("Wrecking Ball", "Ludo Says Hi", "It's Dark In Here" and "Once More, With Feeling"). If you've ever given them a listen and liked what you heard, both of their albums are up for purchase. (5 GBP is about equivalent to $9 Canadian and a little over $8 USD to give you an idea... their older album is only 3 GBP). I'm a big supporter of below-the-radar bands who deserve it, sooo yeah, just another plug right there. :)

AND I FINALLY FINISHED THE LORD OF THE RINGS. :D So I'm a legit fan of the literature as well as the films now, I'm so proud. 1008 pages of tiny print that I enjoyed immensely. Gotta reread The Hobbit too, don't think I've touched it since I was eleven.
Yeah SOOOO early Medieval Lit class tomorrow, nighty~ ♥
